M Cafe’ sprouts new location in Brentwood – opening Oct. 23, 2013

M Café, the Los Angeles favorite for flavorful and vibrant contemporary macrobiotic fare with locations in Beverly Hills and Hollywood, announces the official opening of its third location in Brentwood, CA on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. M Café will provide health-conscious west-siders with an approachable menu created by macrobiotic expert and M Café Consulting Chef Lee Gross, featuring well-known favorites, seasonal specials, and healthy options for breakfast, lunch & dinner including fresh crafted juices for those on the go or any time of day. Nestled within the Brentwood neighborhood the intimate space will take inspiration from the charming and convivial setting found at its other beloved locations boasting deli cases filled with fresh salads, sushi, and desserts along with friendly service catering to locals who make it their weekly eatery.

“Brentwood offers its own unique small town appeal for those who call it home – which is what in fact drew me here as a resident,” says M Café Owner Yuta Tsunoda. “We look forward to welcoming the neighborhood with our delicious ‘feel-good’ food and making it an everyday go-to spot any time of day or night.” Set amid the stylish and chic Brentwood community, M Café will feature its signature savory and sweet options, retail products, as well as the renowned seasonal RESET cleanse package and occasional cooking demonstrations for epicureans seeking to expand their macrobiotic acumen.

The menu at M Café offers something for everyone starting with the extensive beverage menu, which will include ever-changing seasonally fresh made-to-order juices, unique teas, and customized tonics, as well as weekly specials and a kid’s menu. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, guests can place their order at the counter then sit in the inviting café or take a seat on the outdoor patio.  M Café has come to be recognized for its distinct juices and will be expanding the menu to include cold-pressed options made on the premises.  Grab-and-go items will also be available including salads, wraps, brown rice sushi and fresh beverages.

Open from 7 am to 8 pm daily, and for weekend brunch served until 3 pm on Saturday and Sunday, guests may arrive at the start of their day for an “M-Crafted” juice and Vegan Benedict ($10.25), M Café Breakfast Bento ($12-$15.95), or grab a convenient Breakfast Burrito with scrambled organic tofu, black beans, brown rice, and fresh kale, all wrapped in a gluten-free tortilla with a spicy chipotle sauce ($6.95). Guests may also enjoy a leisurely afternoon post-workout meal with a signature M Chopped or Gado Gado Tempeh Salad ($11.95), a heartier Big Macro Burger Combo ($14.75), or create-your-own M Café Noodle Bowl featuring Miracle or Udon Noodles, choice of protein as well as broth, including a Spicy Yuzu Miso or Yellow Coconut Curry ($9.95-$15.95). Alternatively, guests can end their evening with a nourishing meal for the body and soul including weekly dinner specials that may include a savory kelp noodle stir-fry or a seasonal potpie, to name a few. M Café will also offer catering services, full cleanse packages and gift cards which are ideal for the holiday season.

Lee Gross’ keen perspective on how to successfully bring macrobiotic cuisine to a mainstream dining audience has been instrumental to the success of M Café over the last seven years. Drawn to the world of macrobiotic cuisine and how food affects our lives and overall well-being, Gross studied alternative health sciences at the Kushi Institute in Becket, MA. In 2001, Gross met Mina Dobic, the macrobiotic counselor to actress Gwyneth Paltrow, which led to a position as the Oscar-winning performer’s personal chef. When CHAYA Corporate Executive Chef Shigefumi Tachibe was exploring a new macrobiotic concept in 2005, he brought Gross on board to help launch M Café.
