Dinner + Movie: The World’s End & Del Frisco’s

DINNER: Del Frisco’s | 1551 Ocean Ave
Santa Monica
| (310) 395-7333

Cheesesteak Eggrolls $12
Sweet & Spicy Chili Sauce, Honey Mustard

New to Santa Monica, Del Frisco’s is a solid score! Great standards, very cool appetizer menu featuring items like Cheesesteak Eggrolls – an asian take on Philly Cheesesteak. Price is very fair. You can get the 8oz filet for $35. Dinner entreés range between $13-$40. Great spot for date night and easy walk to the theater.

Tuna Tartare, Avocado, Spicy Citrus Mayo Tacos

MOVIE: The World’s End | 441 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica, CA ‎ (310) 458-3924

The World’s End didn’t really get started until near the movie’s end. It dragged on trying hard to manufacture “male bonding” scenes but there was very little chemistry between any of the actors. Nick Frost was the only real likable character but, even a man of his size couldn’t carry the film.

This wasn’t a bad watch by any stretch but certainly not nearly as tight or witty as some of writer Simon Pegg’s earlier work like Shaun of the Dead.
