  • 1 lb thinly sliced pork (or bacon)
  • 1 lb asparagus, trimmed and blanched
  • 1 Tbs vegetable oil
  • Teriyaki sauce (recipe in Beef Teriyaki)
  • Toothpicks

Count the pork slices, and asparagus spears. Divide them in equal amounts.  Roll up each asparagus stalk( or  few stalks) tightly with strips of meat, secure with toothpick. Heating up oil in a large saute pan over medium high heat.  Add the rolls, turn and cook thoroughly all sides to slight golden brown.  Take out the rolls, cut into bite-size pieces and place them in warm teriyaki in a saucepan. Let soak for 30 seconds and then plate on large platter and serve. If you prefer a crunchier spear then serve warm teriyaki reduction on the side as a dip instead.
